The Abbie DeLoach Foundation continues to turn a tragedy into hope and help for deserving students.
The Abbie DeLoach Foundation, created in 2016, named in honor of Savannah’s Abbie DeLoach.
For years, the foundation has held an annual scholarship luncheon, uplifting those like Abbie – student-athletes, nursing students and those dedicated to serving their communities.
“As a father who might have lost one daughter, I have gained so many new children that are inside our foundation, and it really just warms your heart,” said Jimmy DeLoach Jr., father of Abbie DeLoach and founder of the foundation.
This year, 28 students awarded scholarships, the largest scholarship class ever.
Since its founding in 2016, the Abbie DeLoach Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships.
The students recognized for their academic excellence, leadership, service, and athletic commitment.
WJCL 22 News’ Frank Sulkowski once again served as an emcee for the scholarship luncheon.
