Each April the Foundation host the Annual Scholarship Luncheon. April is marked with grief as it often remembered as the month of the accident, instead each April we choose to celebrate the continued impact during this remembered month.
The 2019 Scholarship Luncheon began with remarks from Anna DeLoach, Abbie’s sister, who now attends Medical School in Atlanta.
“I am pleased to welcome each of the recipients and their families to this special luncheon. You have earned your recognition today. Your late nights studying, your dedicated hours in the gym, the miles you have traveled here and abroad to change the world – have made an impact. Your 2019 scholarship class represents, 4 Savannah high schools, 9 hometowns in Georgia, 3 states, 3 countries, from as far as Uganda Africa, nationally ranked athletes, future medical professionals, you are Abbie’s heart and love for God. Congratulations from our family to each of you.”
The Annual Scholarship Luncheon provides recognition to our Class of Scholarship Recipients. Each year the Scholarship Class consist of recipients from each of our partnership organizations. We invite the recipient as well as their friends, coaches, and family to join. Corporate guest to show their support and join in the celebration of the Scholarship Class Announcement.
The Scholarship Luncheon began as an intimate gathering with the first scholarship class of 7 recipients. Today is consist of 200 attendees, a class of 23 recipients, a guest speaker and an annual video commemorating the impact of the prior year.
The Scholarship Luncheon brings together local supporters from the community, Abbie’s friends and family and most importantly our current recipients. We invite recipients to return each subsequent year so we can celebrate their success and we can hear how they continue to Live Inspired.
