Scholarship Luncheon
The Abbie DeLoach Foundation awarded scholarships to 29 students and organizations at a ceremony and luncheon held on April 29 at the Savannah Golf Club. We were humbled by each family member, recipient, community supporter, and government official who took their time to attend, remember Abbie, and honor the scholarship recipients. Thank you, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson, Abbie’s uncle and former Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach, State Senator Ben Watson, State Representative Jan Tankersley, Chatham County Sheriff John Wilcher, and representatives from the office of State Senator Lester Jackson. Thank you to our Table Host and Sponsors; Georgia Nurses Association, Tidewater Landscape Group, 3 AM Technologies, Urgent Care of Berwick, Coleman Company, and Allan Pulaski. The scholarship recipients were celebrated, and their community impact was recognized. The Annual Scholarship Luncheon provides recognition to our Class of Scholarship Recipients. Each year the Scholarship Class consist of recipients from each of our partnership organizations. We invite the recipient as well as their friends, coaches, and family to join. Corporate guest to show their support and join in the celebration of the Scholarship Class Announcement.
The Scholarship Luncheon began as an intimate gathering with the first scholarship class of 7 recipients. Today is consist of 200 attendees, a class of 23 recipients, a guest speaker and an annual video commemorating the impact of the prior year.
The Scholarship Luncheon brings together local supporters from the community, Abbie’s friends and family and most importantly our current recipients. We invite recipients to return each subsequent year so we can celebrate their success and we can hear how they continue to Live Inspired.
