Scholarship Luncheon
The Abbie DeLoach Foundation awarded scholarships to 27 outstanding students and organizations at its annual scholarship luncheon, held on April 17, 2025, at the Savannah Golf Club in Savannah, Georgia. This heartwarming event celebrated the Foundation’s ninth scholarship class, recognizing academic excellence, exemplary service, and athletic commitment.
We were honored to have Fernando Velasco, former University of Georgia football player and Director of Player Development for the Atlanta Falcons, as the keynote speaker. His inspiring message deeply resonated with students and guests alike.
The luncheon’s premier sponsor was The Umbel Group at Morgan Stanley. We were grateful to be joined by family members, community supporters, and government officials who came together to celebrate the achievements of these remarkable recipients and to honor Abbie’s lasting legacy.

The Annual Scholarship Luncheon honors and celebrates our Class of Scholarship Recipients, recognizing outstanding students from each of our partner organizations. Each year, we welcome recipients along with their families, coaches, and friends to join us in celebrating their achievements and the official announcement of the scholarship class.
What began as an intimate gathering with our very first class of seven recipients has grown into a vibrant event, now hosting over 160 attendees. This year, we proudly recognized 27 recipients in our ninth scholarship class, featured a powerful keynote address from Fernando Velasco, former UGA football player and Director of Player Development for the Atlanta Falcons, and premiered our annual video highlighting the Foundation’s continued impact both locally and abroad.
The Scholarship Luncheon brings together state leaders, elected officials, corporate partners, Abbie’s friends and family, and—most importantly—our inspiring recipients. Each year, we invite past recipients to return, so we can continue to celebrate their achievements and hear how they are choosing to Live Inspired.
